Augsburg will travel to Heidenheim on Saturday in the fifth round of the Bundesliga. After the defeat to Mainz, coach Sandro Wagner has turned his attention to the upcoming challenge.
Sandro Wagner said: "It's all about learning the right lessons from defeat. As usual, we've analysed the performance in depth during the week and have seen positive feedback in training. The whole team has benefited a lot from it and we hope to show that against Heidenheim."
Although Heidenheim remains bottom of the table without any points, Augsburg coach Sandro Wagner anticipates a tough match at the Voith Arena. He said, "It's never easy to get a good result there, but we will give it our all and aim to win. Heidenheim's previous matches have been very close; they are not a team lacking confidence, and we are equally motivated."
Augsburg has confirmed that captain Geoffrey Hauveleu will miss Saturday's game due to a torn medial collateral ligament. Coach Sandro Wagner admitted: "This is undoubtedly a blow. Geoffrey Hauveleu is not only our core player on the field, but also a leader in the locker room. However, our defense has ample options. Apart from the captain's injury, almost all of our players are available, which provides the coaching staff with ample room for adjustment."
