Sassuolo announced on their official website on Thursday that the club have extended the contract of its Italy U21 international goalkeeper Gioele Zacchi.
According to Sassuolo's official statement, Zacchi has signed on a new long-term four-year deal which runs until the summer of 2029.
After completing his contract extension procedures, Zacchi who was interviewed by the Sassuolo official website again, said: "I grew up here, I've worn this jersey for many years, and I've always hoped my journey with Neroverde could continue. I'm very satisfied with the results I've achieved, and I thank the club for giving me this excellent opportunity."
About Gioele Zacchi
Zacchi, who is only still 22 years-old, was born on July 10, 2003, in Modena, Italy. He is 1.85 meters tall and plays as a goalkeeper.
Zacchi joined Sassuolo's youth academy at a young age and began playing for their reserve team in 2020. He was loaned-out to Giana Erminio in the summer of 2023.
In the summer of 2024, Zacchi was loaned-out to Latina, where he impressed and became the starting goalkeeper for the Italy U21s national team.
After returning from his loan spell this summer, Zacchi was promoted to Sassuolo's first team, but has yet to make his first-team debut.
Since his debut, Zacchi has made 53 appearances for the newly promoted Serie A side's U23s squad in all competitions, conceding 66 goals and keeping 14 clean sheets.
