Burnley will travel south to challenge Brentford in the 13th round of the Premier League this weekend. Manager Scott Parker said before the match that the whole team will go all out to achieve a result away from home.
Since taking over the team, Parker has been closely monitoring their performance in training and matches. Currently, Burnley sits second-to-last in the Premier League table with only 10 points. Parker isn't concerned about the rankings, believing they don't reflect Burnley's true progress; what matters more is the team's consistent growth demonstrated in daily training.
Parker said, "I see us making tremendous progress as a team. The standings aren't that important at this stage of the season; I'm more focused on the effort and improvement I see every day."
“We need to maintain our current direction, focus, and composure. When the game doesn’t go as expected, we must face it bravely. The Premier League is highly competitive, and small differences can determine the outcome, so the team needs to continue to improve its execution and precision.”
Speaking about their upcoming match against Brentford, Parker spoke highly of the opponent. He pointed out that Brentford has long been a regular in the Premier League with consistent performances, and that manager Keith Andrews has made a significant impact in just a few months since taking over.
“Brentford is a strong team, they have years of experience at this level. Keys did a fantastic job, and we knew it would be a tough game,” Parker said.
However, Parker also emphasized that the team's preparation goal is clear: to take points from London. Parker stated, "They are strong at home, but we are ready and ambitious to challenge them. I believe we can cause them trouble. We will give it our all."
