Strasbourg completes contract extension with head coach Liam Rosenior..

Strasbourg announced on its official website on Friday that the club has extened the contract of its English head coach Liam Rosenior.

According to Strasbourg's official statement, Rosenior has signed on new a three-year contract with the club which will run until the summer of 2028.

With this contract extension, it will temporarily shatter the rumours claiming that the young coach will join Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Rosenior, 40, was born on July 9, 1984 in Wandsworth, London, England. He is 1.75 meters tall. He primarily played as a right back during his playing career, and can also play as a right midfielder or left back. He has dual citizenship of England and Sierra Leone. Rosenior joined Bristol City's youth academy at a young age, and completed his Bristol City first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in April 2002, during which he won the English Football League Trophy with the club.

In November of the following year, Rosenior joined Fulham for £550,000, but was first loaned-out to Torquay United.

After returning from his loan spell in the summer of 2004, Rosenior officially became a key player in Fulham's first-team.

During his three-year spell with the Cottagers, Rosenior helped the club successfully avoid relegation.

On the 2007 summer transfer window deadline day, Rosenior transferred to Reading in a swap deal with former South Korean striker Seol Ki-hyun. During this spell, he was also briefly loaned-out to Ipswich Town.

After leaving the club at the end of his contract in October 2010, Rosenior joined Hull City as a free agent.

During his five-year spell with the Tigers, Rosenior helped the club reach the FA Cup final once.

After leaving the club at the end of his contract in the summer of 2015, Rosenior joined Brighton as a free agent and retired three years later.

After retiring, Rosenior stayed at Brighton as an assistant coach for its U23s team, and has since focused on his coaching career.

In July 2019, Rosenior was appointed assistant coach of Derby County. Later, after former Manchester United and England legendary international striker Wayne Rooney was sacked, he was once appointed as an interim manager until he resigned in late 2022.

In September 2022, Rosenior returned to Hull City as head coach.

As a head coach, Rosenior was nominated for the EFL Championship Manager of the Year once for his successful development of many young players and his focus on gorgeous attacking football. However, he was controversially fired in May 2024 for failing to lead the club to qualify for the EFL Championship promotion play-offs.

Two months later, Rosenior officially replaced former Arsenal and France legendary international defensive midfielder Patrick Vieira as the new head coach of Strasbourg.

So far this season, Rosenior has coached the Ligue 1 super dark horse in 33 games in all competitions, gaining 15 wins, 10 draws and 8 losses, a win percentage of 45.45%, they are temporarily 7th on the table with 51 points, tightly following Marseille, Monaco, Nice, Lille and Lyon, and is still can qualify for the Champions League.
