Tottenham Hotspur Football Club recently released an official statement confirming that, following friendly negotiations, head coach Igor Tudor and his two foreign assistant coaches have officially left their posts, effective immediately.
Tudor's tenure at Tottenham lasted only six weeks. During this time, the team's performance plummeted, managing only one point in five Premier League matches, suffering elimination from the Champions League, and sinking into a relegation battle after a humiliating defeat to Nottingham Forest.
In an official statement, the club thanked Tudor's team for their hard work and expressed its deepest condolences for his recent loss. With Tudor's departure, Tottenham are forced into the awkward situation of searching for a fourth manager in just 295 days.
With a crucial relegation battle against Sunderland looming this weekend, Tottenham's management is eager to finalize a successor. According to media reports, former Brighton and Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi is Tottenham's top target, although the Italian manager prefers to wait until this summer to consider taking over a new club.
As for other candidates, former Monaco manager Adi Hütter has publicly stated that he will not return to action before the start of the new season, thus withdrawing from the competition. Faced with this challenging situation, Tottenham's management is considering inviting 68-year-old club legend Glenn Hoddle.
Although Hoddle hasn't been a manager for nearly 20 years since 2006, he has made it clear that he's willing to lend a helping hand to his former club in times of crisis. In addition, other out-of-service coaches with Tottenham backgrounds, including Tim Sherwood, Harry Redknapp, and Ryan Mason, have also been linked with the position.
