With the NBA preseason about to begin, San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama said he's been training hard over the summer and hopes to return to the court in top form.
In February of this year, Victor Wembanyama suffered a deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder, so he only played 46 games for the San Antonio Spurs in the 2024/25 NBA regular season, averaging 24.3 points, 47.6% shooting percentage and 33.2% three-point shooting percentage.
Looking back on his summer training, 21-year-old Victor Wenbanyama said, "My training this summer was incredibly hard. I can assure you that no one has ever trained like me. This has also been my best summer so far. I can feel that my progress has been incredible."
"I've gotten better at controlling my body and my conditioning has improved a lot, and that comes at a huge price. What I've done has been world-class, and even in professional sports, I don't think there are many people who've had a summer like I have."
In addition, Victor Wenbanyama also said, "In terms of physical fitness, I have completed all the training steps this summer, and I will get better next time."
"I feel like I've done everything I could this summer. Now it's all about playing and improving as a team. So I want to be involved in the games. I really miss it."
