The Milwaukee Bucks have officially confirmed that their starting point guard, Kevin Porter Jr., has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.
Given the need for systematic rehabilitation after surgery, this 25-year-old guard will miss the remainder of the season, ending his year's journey prematurely.
Ahead of the Bucks' away game against the Brooklyn Nets, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers revealed to the media the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Porter Jr.'s injury. Rivers pointed out with heartache that the hidden danger that plagued Porter Jr. had actually been sown at the beginning of the season opener.
Rivers said, "If you look back at his overall performance over the past half season, you'll find that he has still delivered an outstanding performance, and he had every opportunity to take his form to an even higher level."
"Unfortunately, he was injured just eight minutes into our first game of the new season, and he has never fully recovered since."
Before taking a full break to receive treatment, Porter's last appearance was on March 17th. In the 38 games he played through injury this season, he still managed to deliver a well-rounded stat line of 17.4 points, 7.4 assists, and 5.2 rebounds, demonstrating his significant contribution to the team's tactical system.
