Dario Essugo has only been at Chelsea for a few weeks but he has already adapted and fallen in love with life at Chelsea. The midfielder completed the process of joining Chelsea earlier this month and immediately left for the United States with head coach Enzo Maresca's team to compete in the Club World Cup.  

Just a few days later, Dario Essugo made his Chelsea debut as a substitute in Chelsea's 2-0 win over Los Angeles.  

Although he is still at the beginning of his Chelsea career, the player says he has made significant progress in terms of growth and adaptation. Dario Esugo said: "The environment here is great and this experience is different from the past. I am very happy and proud to make my debut for Chelsea. My teammates and the club have given me great support."  

"I'm learning here with the coach, teammates and midfielders, this is a completely different level. The players in the team are all very good. Coach Enzo Maresca has his own unique perspective on football, just like other coaches, but I always try to understand his requirements."  

Dario Esugo also mentioned that Romeo Lavia's composure is something he admires very much, while midfield teammates Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo are important players who play for both the national team and Chelsea. Dario Esugo knows that it is a rare opportunity to learn from these top players every day.  

Even in his brief appearance against Los Angeles FC, Dario Essougo showed the energy and impact of the midfield, which has always been the core position of the team, and the successive generations of great players such as Claude Makelele , Michael Essien and N'Golo Kante have played a key role in this.  

Dario Esugo said he hopes to reach their level but believes he has unique technical characteristics. He said: "To be honest, I have never watched Makelele play on TV, but many people told me stories about him and think that I have some similarities with him in my playing style."  

"They are all very good players and I hope to carve out my own path. I also hope to follow in their footsteps like Makelele, Essien and Kante."  

“I’ve always played in midfield, mainly defensive midfield, but I also like to carry the ball and sprint from one box to the other. Of course, I feel flattered when people compare me to a tall player. But I hope to combine the two and reach the top in my own way.”
