Torino announced on its official website on Sunday that the club has signed Uruguay international goalkeeper Franco Israel from Sporting Clube de Portugal.
According to the Serie A club's official statement, Israel has signed on a three-year contract with the club which runs until the summer of 2028, with an option to extend for a further year.
About Franco Israel
Israel, 25, was born on April 22, 2000 in Nueva Helvecia, Uruguay. He is 1.90 meters tall and plays as a goalkeeper. He has Uruguayan, Italian and German nationalities.
Israel played for the Nacional youth academy when he was a child. In August 2018, he joined the Juventus youth academy for €2.2 million. In September 2020, he began to represent the U23s, but never got the opportunity to complete his first-team debut.
In July 2022, Israel joined Sporting Clube de Portugal for €650,000.
During his three-year spell with Leões, Israel played 53 times for Sporting CP in all competitions, conceded 50 goals, kept 22 clean sheets, and won the Portuguese Primeira Liga twice and the Taça de Portugal once with the club.
