Villarreal head coach Marcelino García Toral believes a 2-2 draw against Real Betis was a fair result in a match full of twists and turns, and he spoke to the media after the game to share his thoughts.  

Marcelino said: "The game was quite up and down, even more than I expected. Our defense was not good in the beginning, Real Betis had the upper hand and had chances to score. But from about half an hour into the game, our performance improved significantly. In addition to the goal, we also created three very dangerous opportunities."  

"At the start of the second half, the opponent was more aggressive, but we made it 2-0 with a great combination. Then, they quickly recovered a goal to make it 1-2, but we quickly equalized again. In the injury time, a top player made it 2-2."  

Despite the unsatisfactory result of the draw, Marcelino still praised the team's performance. He said: "I am satisfied with the team's performance against Real Betis. They are a very good team, and it is regrettable to concede two goals. Our defense was not solid enough and lacked efficiency. They created more threats than we expected."  

For Marcelino, the 2-2 draw was fair considering what happened at the Estadio degli Alegre. "Even though we were 2-0 up, Real Betis kept playing well," he said. "It was a heartbreaking game, but the result wasn't unfair . They created chances, and perhaps a draw was the most reasonable outcome."  

Marcelino expressed his delight at becoming Villarreal's most capped manager, saying: "I'm very satisfied. Being able to coach here for so long shows that we're doing a great job.
