Leeds United issued a statement on Monday announcing that 26-year-old Udinese central defender Jaka Bjor has officially joined. The two sides signed a five-year contract, valid until June 30, 2030.

According to multiple media reports, the fixed fee for this transfer is 15 million pounds, with a floating clause of up to 4 million pounds.

Bjor was born in Vuženica, Slovenia in February 1999 and made his official debut from Velenie Ruda on July 16, 2017. He then moved to CSKA Moscow and Hannover 96, and joined Udinese for 5.76 million euros in July 2022.

To date, Bjor has made 95 appearances for Udinese, scoring 5 goals and providing 4 assists.

With his stable performance at the club level, Bjor has been given the opportunity to play for his country since October 2018. So far, he has played 63 times for Slovenia, contributing 1 goal and 2 assists.

After completing the signing, Bjor said: "Today is an important day for me and my family. I am very happy to join Leeds United. This may be the biggest challenge in my career so far, but I am ready."
