Resident renowned English Liverpool team correspondent David Lynch has personally refuted rumours claiming that Eintracht Frankfurt had "accepted" the club's £80 million offer for its France international forward wonderkid Hugo Ekitike in an interview with the country's official Liverpool fans organization's YouTube channel Redmen TV on Sunday.

Lynch refuted the rumour on the show, saying that he was puzzled by the rumour and questioned the possibility of it happening.

He said that the rumour which claimed that "the offer of an initial fee of £80 million has been accepted" itself is already worthy of questioning, because Liverpool has never rashly offered such a high price for any player.

Secondly, Liverpool is just looking for a cheap and good wonderkid striker like Ekitike, not "wanting to sign Ekitik himself."

Lynch added that it was almost certain that the Reds might sell Uruguay international forward Darwin Núñez this summer, but that did not mean Liverpool would definitely spend more than £100 million to bring in Ekitike.

The same is true for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, and it is too early to talk about Liverpool's top signing target.
