Real Betis announced on its official website on Tuesday that the club has signed Colombian defensive midfielder Nelson Deossa from Monterrey.

According to the La Liga powerhouse's official statement, Deossa has signed on a long-term five-year deal which runs until the summer of 2030. In accordance with La Liga regulations, Deossa's release clause is set at €75 million.

About Nelson Deossa

Deossa, 25, was born on February 6, 2000, in Marmato, Colombia. He is 1.85 meters tall and plays as a defensive midfielder.

Deossa joined Atlético Huila's youth academy at a young age and completed his Atlético Huila first-team debut as a substitute by coming on in January 2021, helping the club win a Colombian Primera Division B.

The following year, Deossa was loaned-out to Estudiantes de La Plata and Junior FC.

In January 2023, Deossa was loaned-out to Atlético Nacional, where he helped the club completes the Colombian Primera Division and the Colombian Cup double.

The following January, Deossa joined Pachuca for €1.5 million, where he helped the club achieve completes the CONCACAF Champions Cup, FIFA Intercontinental Challenger Cup, and FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

In January of this year, Deossa moved to Monterrey for $5 million.

During his six-month stay with Monterrey, Deossa made 29 appearances for the Liga MX club in all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing one assist.
