England beat Latvia with a comprehensive 3-0 win in the 2026 FIFA World Cup in United States, Canada and Mexico European Qualifiers at Wembley Stadium on Monday.

In the first half, Gutkovskis' shot from a difficult angle after intercepting the ball box hit the side netting. James' free kick flew into the net turning it into a wonder goal. In the second half, Kane scored with a close-range shot and Eze scored from a difficult angle shot. In the end, England defeated Latvia with a big 3-0 win. After this round of games, the Three Lions continue to lead Group K with 6 points; Latvia is temporarily third in the group with 3 points.

First Half

In the 18th minute, Marcus Rashford crossed into the box from the left wing. His pass was initially blocked and cleared off twice not far away by Antonijs Černomordijs. After quickly following up and picking up the loose ball, Jarrod Bowen volleyed with his right foot from the right side of the box, but his shot went wide of the right side of the post.

Soon after, Latvia launched a quick counterattack. Marc Guéhi made a mistake while clearing the ball in his own penalty area. Vladislavs Gutkovskis quickly followed up and intercepted the ball before volleying with his right foot at a difficult angle from the right side of the box, but his shot ends up hitting the right side of the net. Latvia missed the golden opportunity to break the deadlock first, and England escaped from being punished!

In the 22nd minute, England got a corner kick opportunity. Declan Rice took the corner by crossing it into the box. Jude Bellingham rose high and attempted with a header in the penalty area box. His effort was accidentally blocked by Rashford. After picking up the loose ball, Ezri Konsa pushed the ball with his left foot at a very close distance in the box, but his shot was saved by Krišjānis Zviedris.

In the 38th minute, England got a deadly free kick opportunity. Reece James took the free kick from outside the penalty area by directly volleying the ball with his right foot. The ball flew straight into the upper right corner of the net, turning it into a wonder goal as Zviedris had no time to make a save. England broke the deadlock first to take a 1-0 lead! The Chelsea captain finally got his debut goal for the national team!

In the 4th minute of the first half stoppage time, Bowen passed the ball back from the edge of the byline on the right side of the box. Morgan Rogers quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, pushed the ball with his right foot at very a close distance in the box, but his shot was saved by Zviedris.

At the end of the first half, England temporarily led Latvia by 1-0 and entered the half time break.

Second Half

Both teams switched sides as the match continued. In the 63rd minute, Bellingham passes horizontally from the front. Harry Kane quickly followed up, stopped the ball and adjusted his angle before volleying with his left foot from the center of the box, but his shot went just slightly wide of the left side of the post.

5 minutes later, Rice passes horizontally from the right side of the box, Kane quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, pushed the ball pushed the ball into the bottom right corner of the net with his left foot from a very close distance in the box. England expanded its lead to 2-0! This is the 71st national team goal which was scored by the Bayern Munich center forward who has equalled Bill Wright's record of having 105 appearances for the Three Lions!

In the 75th minute, Phil Foden made a straight pass from the left wing. Eberechi Eze quickly followed up, got the ball, dribbled and cuts into the left side of the box before volleying into the bottom left corner of the net with his right foot at a dfficult angle. England secured the victory at 3-0!

7 minutes later, Curtis Jones passes horizontally from the midfield, Rogers quickly followed up, got the ball, dribbled and cuts inside before taking a long shot with his right foot from the edge of the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Zviedris.

When the final whistle blown, England comprehensively defeated Latvia by 3-0.
