Borussia Dortmund defeated 10-man Heidenheim with a 0-2 away win at the Voith-Arena on Saturday on matchday 3 of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season.

In the first half, Adeyemi nearly scored early in the match. Zivzivadze was sent off for a foul on Nmecha, Guirassy scored with a header, and Beier fired into the empty net from close range. The second half was uneventful. Ultimately, Borussia Dortmund beat 10-man Heideheim with a 0-2 away win. Following this round of matches, BVB temporarily moved into second place on the table with 7 points, while Heidenheim, suffering their third consecutive defeat, remained at the bottom of the table with 0 points.

First Half

Just after the start of the match, at the first minute, Dortmund launched a quick counterattack. Yan Couto intercepted the ball and made a straight pass from the right wing. After successfully beating the offside trap, Karim Adeyemi quickly followed up, got the ball and took a few steps before volleying with his left foot from a difficult angle at the right side of the box, but his shot was saved by Diant Ramaj. Heidenheim almost made a big mistake!

In the 21st minute, Pascal Groß back-passed the ball from the edge of the byline at the left side of the box. Upon receiving the pass, Serhou Guirassy strucked the ball with his right foot from a very close distance in the box, but his shot was saved by Ramaj.

Seconds later, Felix Nmecha was fouled by Budu Zivzivadze while intercepting the ball on the left wing. The referee immediately blew his whistle and sent him off with a red card, forcing Heidenheim to finish the game with 10-men!

In the 24th minute, Daniel Svensson crossed into the box from the left wing. Guirassy rose high and attempted with a header in the box, however his effort was saved over the crossbar by Ramaj.

7 minutes later, Couto made a straight pass from the right wing. Adeyemi quickly followed up, got the ball, dribbled and cuts into the right side of the box before volleying with his left foot, but his shot flew high out of the pitch.

In the 33rd minute, Julian Ryerson crossed into the box from the right, Serhou Guirahi rose high and scored with a header in the box. Borussia Dortmund broke the deadlock first to take a 1-0 lead! The Guinean international striker has scored in eight consecutive games. He only needs to score in the next two games to tie Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's record of scoring goals in 10 consecutive matches in Dortmund's history!

In the 6th minute of first-half stoppage time, Ryerson made a through ball from near the midfield center circle. After successfully beating the offside trap, Adeyemi quickly followed up, got the ball, dribbled into the right side of the box and deliberately passes horizontally against the outrushing Ramaj. Maximilian Bayer quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, easily slotted the ball into the empty net with a right-footed shot from a very close distance in the box, extending Dortmund's lead to 0-2! This was the 20th assist in Adeyemi's BVB career across all competitions!

At the end of the first half, Heidenheim, having a lost an extra player in the match, are already trailing Borussia Dortmund by 0-2 heading into the break.

Second Half

Both teams switched sides as the match continued. In the 52nd minute, Sirlord Conteh passes horizontally from the left wing. Arijon Ibrahimović quickly followed up, got the ball, cuts inside and took a few steps before firing a right-footed long shot from outside the penalty area, but his shot was saved over the over the crossbar by Gregor Kobel.

In the 68th minute, Jobe Bellingham made a straight pass from the front. Guirassy stopped the ball, turned around, and volleyed with his right foot from the right side of the box, but his shot was saved by Ramaj.

10 minutes later, Svensson horizontally from the left wing. Nmecha stopped the ball and back-passed the ball from the center of the box. Upon receiving the pass, Carney Chukwuemeka volleyed with his right foot from the center of the box, but his shot flew high out of the pitch.

In the 90th minute, Cole Campbell passes horizontally from the edge of the right side of the box. Upon receiving the pass, strucked the ball with his right foot from a very close distance in the box, but his shot was blocked by Ramaj's outstretched leg.

When the full time whistle is blown, Borussia Dortmund defeated 10-man Heidenheim with a 0-2 away win.
