Atalanta announced on Wednesday that Montenegrin striker Nikola Korstovic has joined from Lecce. He will wear the No. 90 jersey at Atalanta and his contract will last until June 30, 2030.
With the arrival of Krstovic, Atalanta has welcomed its sixth new signing this summer, following Odilon Cosunou, Kamaleddin Sulaimana, Oriste Ahanoul, Marco Sportiello and Nikola Zalewski. They paid Lecce a transfer fee of €25 million, which could reach up to €35 million after bonuses.
There are also reports that Lecce retained 10% of the player's secondary transfer share.
Krstovic is the third most expensive signing in Atalanta's history, with El Bilal Touré (€30.2 million) and Gianluca Scamacca (€28 million) being the club's two most expensive signings before him.
The 25-year-old Korstovic came through the Zeta youth academy and made his debut for the first team in the Montenegrin League on April 23, 2016. He subsequently moved to Red Star Belgrade, Gafica and Dunajská Streda before joining Lecce for €8.15 million in August 2023.
So far, Korstovic has made 75 appearances for Lecce, scoring 20 goals and providing 7 assists, helping the team successfully avoid relegation for two consecutive seasons.
As for the national team level, Korstovic has been selected for the Montenegro national team since March 2022. He has made 27 appearances so far, contributing 6 goals and 2 assists.
