On October 21st , the Indiana Pacers reached a two-year, $40.4 million contract extension with forward Aaron Nesmith before the start of the new season , keeping him until the 2028-29 season. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, this contract is the maximum extension under Nesmith's current agreement and includes a trade bonus clause.
Last season, he and Andrew Nembhard became the wing combination trusted by head coach Rick Carlisle. Together with Tyrese Haliburton, Pascal Siakam and Myles Turner, they formed a starting lineup and led the team to play the league's top fast-paced space system, helping the Pacers reach the finals again after 25 years.
In the regular season last season, Nesmith averaged 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game, shooting 50.7% from the field, 43.1% from three-point range, and 91.3% from the free throw line . In the playoffs, he set an NBA playoff record with a 49.2% three-point shooting percentage.
