Brentford have officially announced that defender Christopher Ayer has signed a contract extension with the club. The player has committed his future to the team, extending his contract until the summer of 2030, with an option to extend for another year. This season, Christopher Ayer has made 16 appearances in the Premier League, playing as both a centre-back and a left-back. In September's match against Chelsea, he provided the assist for Fabio Carvalho's late equalizer.  

Following the contract extension, Brentford manager Keith Andrews said: "I am delighted that Christopher Ayer has chosen to remain with the club. He has been a part of the team since the Premier League era, and his importance to the club extends not only on the pitch but also off the pitch."  

“Christopher Ayer is well-liked by the players and has become a very experienced player. He is the type of player I want to keep rather than looking for someone else outside. Sometimes, as a coach, you can focus too much on the outside and overlook the valuable players you already have. He has always been an extremely complete defender for the team and an important part of the team culture.”  

Christopher Ayer also spoke about the club's family atmosphere, the ever-improving standards of daily training, and his determination to continuously motivate himself and his teammates. The defender said, "I'm very happy. I've been with the club for four and a half years and I'm delighted to continue here."  

"The players, the support staff, and the entire club make me feel like a real family, so extending my contract for four years means a lot to me. I've said before that I'm serious; this is probably the best club on a weekday in the world!"
