Liverpool triggered goalkeeper Alisson Becker's contract extension clause..

The Times' resident renowed Liverpool team correspondent Paul Joyce, exclusively reported on Saturday that Liverpool have triggered the contract extension clause of their Brazil international goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

According to Joyce, Alisson's contract, originally set to expire this summer, already included an option to extend it. Despite being plagued by injuries in recent years, he remains head coach Arne Slot's undisputed first-choice goalkeeper.

The club also believes this move will better prepare Georgia international goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili to succeed Alisson in the future.

Due to confidential agreement, journalists could not disclose Alisson's new wage, the specific new personal terms agreed upon, or whether the new contract also included an optional clause to extend it.

However, it is confirmed that Alisson's contract extension has been triggered, extending his contract until the summer of 2027.

With this contract extension, Alisson will be playing for Liverpool for the eighth year.
