Porto announced on its official website on Monday that the club has triggered the buyout clause of Udinese's Argentina international defender Nehuén Pérez.
According to Porto's official statement, the club will pay Udinese a transfer fee of €13.3 million to sign Pérez, including 90% of the player's image rights.
In addition, Pérez has also signed on a long-term four-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2029, with a release clause of €60 million.
With this statement, it also shattered the fake news which claimed that the player has given up being bought out by Porto and joined West Ham United this summer.
About Nehuén Pérez
Pérez, 24, was born on June 24, 2000 in Hurlingham, Argentina. He is 1.86 meters tall and primarily plays as a center back, but can also play as a right back.
Pérez joined the Argentinos Juniors youth academy since he was a child, and completed his Argentinos Juniors first-team debut in a Copa Argentina match in May 2018.
In July of the same year, Pérez joined Atlético Madrid for €1.5 million.
However, during his three-year spell with Atléti, Pérez never played for the club. Instead, he was loaned-out to Argentinos Juniors, Famalicão and Granada successively.
In August 2021, Pérez was loaned-out to Udinese.
In July of the following year, the Serie A club officially bought out Pérez's ownership for €8 million.
In August 2024, Pérez joined Porto on-loan with an option to buy.
So far this season, Pérez has played 37 times for the Portuguese Primeira Liga giants in all competitions, scoring 1 goal and assisting 1 time.
