Porto announced on its official website on Wednesday that the club has extended the contract of its Portugal U21s international attacking midfielder wonderkid Rodrigo Mora.

According to Porto's official statement, Mora has has signed on a new long-term five-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2030. At the same time, his release clause has been raised to €70 million.

After completing his contract extension procedures, Mora, who was interviewed by Porto's official website again, said: "This extension means a lot to me and I am very happy. I just turned 18 and I think this is the best gift I have ever received. It is an honour to continue to stay at this club, and my family and I are proud of it. I want to thank the board for their trust in me, all my teammates and my family for helping me get to where I am today."

"This is simply a dream come true. Playing for Porto's first-team has always been a dream for me and my family. I joined Porto at an very early age when I was nine years old, I wanted to continue my career and eventually enter the first-team, and now I have done it. I am very happy to continue playing here for many years."

"This will not end here. I hope to bring more joy to the club and the fans. I will continue to be myself, be myself, and give everything I have for the club."

About Rodrigo Mora

Mora, who is only 18 years old, was born in Porto, Portugal on May 5, 2007. He is 1.68 meters tall and primarily plays as an attacking midfielder. He can also play as a left winger or a right winger.

Mora joined Porto's youth academy at the age of 9, started playing for its B team in January 2023, and completed his Porto first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in September of the following year.

Since his debut, Mora has played 30 times for the Portuguese Primeira Liga giants in all competitions so far, scoring 8 goals and providing 4 assists.
