Augsburg officially announced on Wednesday that they have extended the contract of French center-back Crislan Massima. The new contract extends the original expiry date of 2029 by one year, until June 30, 2030.

The 23-year-old Massima has performed admirably since joining Augsburg on loan last season, and was officially bought out by the club at the beginning of this season. To date, he has made 46 appearances for Augsburg, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists.

Before joining Augsburg, Massima played for a long time at Monaco in Ligue 1. As a product of Monaco's youth academy, he made 41 appearances for the team after making his professional debut on September 27, 2020, and was loaned out twice to Lorient and Clermont.

For Augsburg, this contract extension not only demonstrates their recognition of Massima but also indicates the club's future team-building direction and strategic inclination. In a statement, Augsburg's sporting director, Beni Weber, said: "Chrislan has made rapid progress in the past few months and taken on more responsibility.
