Osasuna announced on its official website on Tuesday that the club has extended the contract of its Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Herrera.
According to Osasuna's official statement, Herrera has signed on a new three-year contract with the club which runs until the summer of 2028. In accordance with La Liga regulations, his buyout clause will also be increased to €20 million.
About Sergio Herrera
Herrera, 32, was born on June 5, 1993, in Miranda de Ebro, Spain. He stands 1.92 meters tall and plays as a goalkeeper.
Herrera joined the Alaves youth academy at a young age, began playing for their B team in 2011, and completed his Alaves first-team debut in a Copa del Rey match the following November.
In July 2013, Herrera was loaned-out to non-league club club Laudio.
After leaving the club at the end of his contract in July 2015, Herrera joined Amorebieta on a free transfer.
The following July, Herrera joined Huesca on a free transfer. During his time there, he helped the club secure Segunda División promotion play-offs qualification.
In July 2017, Herrera joined Osasuna for €300,000.
Since joining Osasuna, Herrera has made 230 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga club so far, conceding 288 goals, keeping 71 clean sheets, and winning the Segunda División once.
