RB Leipzig announced on their official website on Tuesday that the club have extended the contract of its Hungarian international goalkeeper Péter Gulacsi.
According to RB Leipzig's official statement, Gulácsi has signed on a new short-term one-and-half-year deal with the club which will only run until the summer of 2027.
After completing his contract extension procedures, Gulácsi, who was interviewed by the RB Leipzig official website again, said: "I am very happy to continue at RB Leipzig. The club and the city are like my second home, my family, so I didn't hesitate to extend my contract and start my 12th season."
"We have come a long way together and celebrated many successes during this time, which is exactly what I look forward to in the next year and a half."
About Péter Gulacsi
The 35-year-old Gulácsi was born on May 6, 1990, in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. He is 1.93 meters tall and plays as a goalkeeper.
Gulácsi joined MTK Budapest's youth academy at a young age and in 2007 joined Liverpool's renowned Kirkby youth academy, before being promoted to Liverpool's first team the following summer.
From February 2009 to the first half of 2012, Gulacsi was loaned-out to Hereford United, Tranmere Rovers, and Hull City successively.
After leaving Liverpool when his contract expired in the summer of 2013, Gulácsi joined RB Salzburg on a free transfer.
During his two-year spell at Salzburg, Gulácsi won the Austrian Bundesliga and the Austrian Cup twice.
In July 2015, Gulácsi moved to Salzburg's sister club, RB Leipzig, for £3 million.
Since joining Leipzig, Gulácsi has made 360 appearances for the Bundesliga powerhouse in all competitions, conceding 438 goals and keeping 118 clean sheets, winning the DFB-Pokal twice.
