The Atlanta Hawks officially announced today that they have signed guard RayJ Dennis to a two-way contract.
This acquisition aims to deepen the team's backcourt and fully utilize the potential of this 2024-25 NBA G League All-Rookie Team member.
The 24-year-old Dennis is 1.88 meters tall and plays guard. Although he went undrafted in the 2024 NBA draft, he has proven his worth through his tenacious performance in the professional arena. In the past two NBA seasons, he played for the Indiana Pacers and the Los Angeles Clippers.
Dennis had an impressive run of form at the start of the 2025-26 season with the Indiana Pacers. In four games in late October, he averaged 27.8 minutes, contributing 11.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 5.3 assists. Notably, he scored a career-high 17 points in a game against the Dallas Mavericks on October 29th.
Dennis's true dominance was on the G League court. Over the past two seasons, he averaged a well-rounded stat line of 19.8 points, 7.4 assists, and 1.9 steals per game for teams like the Noblesville Prosperity. His exceptional playmaking and perimeter defense made him one of the league's top playmakers, earning him a spot on last season's All-Rookie Team.
During his college years, Dennis garnered numerous accolades. He was unanimously voted MAC Player of the Year. While playing for Baylor University, he recorded 236 assists in a single season, ranking third in school history, and was named to the All-Big 12 Team.
With this new two-way contract, Dennis will move between the Hawks and their G League affiliate. For the Hawks, who are currently undergoing adjustments, a player like Dennis, who possesses immediate impact, excellent playmaking vision, and extensive professional experience, will provide valuable leeway for the team's rotation.
