Los Angeles Lakers point guard Bronny James talked about facing competition in the NBA in an interview and said he hopes to prove himself worthy of playing in the NBA with his outstanding abilities.

Bronny James, 20, joined the Los Angeles Lakers, where his father LeBron James played, through the 2024 NBA draft.

In the 2024/25 NBA regular season, Bronny James played 27 games for the Los Angeles Lakers, averaging 2.3 points per game, 31.3% shooting and 28.1% three-point shooting.

Reflecting on his first season with the Los Angeles Lakers, Bronny James shared, "I would say the Milwaukee Bucks game is a good example, but overall, there were a couple of games that I was proud of."

"Every time I get a performance like this it means a lot to me because it allows me to prove myself to some people. Even if they don't want to change their minds, at least I can prove to some people that I belong here and I can play in the NBA. I just love that feeling, so it's really great."

Bronny James also said, “I always knew I could do it, but just being able to actually go out there and do it makes me feel really good about myself and where I’m going as a player.”

In addition, Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach McMillan said, "We have seen great growth in Bronny James since his first year. He has become more relaxed when playing. His shooting was already fine, but we can also see his confidence has improved. He can hit the shot consistently and can also drive to the basket."
