Liverpool officially announced on its official website on Friday that the club has extended the contract of its legendary Egypt international right winger Mohamed Salah.

According to Liverpool's official statement, Salah has signed on a new a short-term two-year deal which will only run until the summer of 2027.

In addition, according to the news brought by Sky Sports' resident renowned female Liverpool team correspondent Melissa Reddy, since complaining in December that his contract extension negotiations with the club had not made progress, Salah and his agent have never approached any other clubs regarding his contractual issues.

From the beginning to the end, only Liverpool has really approached Salah about his contractual issue. Therefore, the previous rumours which claimed that Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Arsenal, Manchester City, Newcastle United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and other big clubs have approached him are all fake news.

After completing his contract extension procedures, Salah, who was interviewed by Liverpool's official website again, said: "Of course I am very excited. We have a great team now. We also had a great team before. But I signed because I think we have the opportunity to win more trophies and enjoy my football career."

"It's great, I've had my best time here. I've played for eight years, hopefully ten years. I enjoy life and football here. I've had the best time of my career."

"I want to say to the fans that I'm very, very happy to stay here. I signed because I believe we can win many important trophies together. Please continue to support us, we will do our best, and I hope we can win more trophies in the future."

About Mohamed Salah

The 32-year-old Salah, nicknamed "The Pharaoh" or "Egyptian King", was born on June 15, 1992 in Nagrig, Basyoun, Western Province, Egypt. He is 1.75 meters tall and primarily plays as a right winger, but can also play as a center forward.

When Salah was young, he played for the youth academies of Ittihad-Basyoun and Othmason Tanta.
