Atalanta secured a resounding 0-3 away victory against Eintracht Frankfurt on matchday 5 of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League League Phase match at Deutsche Bank Park on Wednesday.

In the first half, Lookman's shot hit the post, and Scamacca's follow-up also hit the post. In the second half, Atalanta unleashed a barrage of succesful attacks with an unmarked Lookman slotting home from close range, followed by Éderson's goal. De Ketelaere then added another goal on a rebound. Ultimately, Atalanta secured a comfortable 0-3 away win against Eintracht Frankfurt. Following this match, La Dea temporarily rises to 10th place on the table with 10 points, while Die Adler sits in 28th place with 4 points.

First Half

In the 11th minute, Nnamdi Collins passes horizontally from the right wing. Farès Chaïbi quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, volleyed with his right foot from the center of the box, but his shot was saved by Marco Carnesecchi.

3 minutes later, Frankfurt earned a corner opportunity. Chaibi took a short corner, and after received the ball, Ritsu Doan crossed into the box from the byline at the left wing. Robin Koch rose high and attempted with a header in the center of the box, however his effort went over the crossbar.

In the 35th minute, Charles De Ketelaere passes horizontally from the attacking third. After receiving the pass with his back, Ademola Lookman turned around and took a left-footed shot from the center of the box, but his passes shot unfortunately struck the bottom right corner of the post and bounced off. Atalanta missed a golden opportunity to score!

Seconds later, after Lookman picking up the loose ball and passes it back from the center of the box. Upon receiving the pass, Gianluca Scamacca took a left-footed follow-up shot from the center of the box, but his shot unfortunately struck the bottom right corner of the post and bounced off. Atalanta missed another golden opportunity to score!

In the 38th minute, Frankfurt launched two quick counter-attacks, with Mario Götze and Jonathan Burkardt both having their shots blocked in the box.

At halftime, Frankfurt and Atalanta go into the break with a goalless draw.

Second Half

Both teams switched sides as the match continued. In the 60th minute, De Ketelaere crossed from the right side of the box. Lookman quickly followed up and, upon receiving the pass, slotted the ball into the bottom left corner of the net with his left foot while being totally unmarked from the left side of the box, to break the deadlock first and give Atalanta a 1-0 lead! The Nigerian international forward finally broke his Champions League goal drought this season!

2 minutes later, Lookman passes horizontally from the attacking third. Éderson quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, strucked the ball with a right-footed shot from the right side of the box. His shot was initially deflected by Michael Zetterer but still rolled into the bottom right corner of the net, extending Atalanta's lead to 2-0!

In the 65th minute, Davide Zappacosta passes horizontally from the left side of the box. His pass was initially blocked and cleared off not far away by Mahmoud Dahoud. After picking the loose ball, Scamacca took a right-footed half-volley from a very close distance in the box, which hit the crossbar and wasn't cleared far enough either. Upon picking up loose ball, De Ketelaere tapped the ball into the bottom right corner of the net from a very close distance in the box with his left foot. Atalanta extended their lead to 0-3 within five minutes!

3 minutes later, Atalanta earned a corner kick opportunity. Zappacosta took the corner by crossing it into the box. Berat Djimsiti rose high and attempted with a header in the box, however his effort was saved by Zetterer.

In the 77th minute, De Ketelaere played a diagonal pass from the attacking third. Lookman quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, volleyed with his left foot from the left side of the box, but his shot was saved by Zetterer.

4 minutes later, Aurélio Buta made an overhead pass from the midfield center circle. After beating the offside trap, Elye Wahi quickly followed up, got the ball and took a few steps before taking a right-footed long shot from the edge of the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Carnesecchi.

In the first minute of stoppage time, Raoul Bellanova crossed into the box from the right wing, where Nikola Krstović attempted with a header in the box, however his effort was saved by Zetterer.

2 minutes later, after picking up the loose ball, Jean-Mattéo Bahoya took a right-footed long shot from outside the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Carnesecchi.

At the final whistle, Atalanta suffered a 0-3 away defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.
