Liverpool finally snapped their losing streak and returned to winning ways on Sunday with a 0-2 away win against 10-men West Ham United on matcthday 13 of the 2025/26 Premier League season at the London Stadium.

In the first half, Isak opened the scoring with a powerful shot. In the second half, Paquetá was sent off for verbally abusing Szoboszlai and the referee after his teammate's malicious foul. Late in the game, Gakpo scored with a half-volley. Ultimately, Liverpool won 0-2 away against West Ham. After this round of matches, the Reds, finally ending their losing streak, temporarily rise to 8th place on the table with 21 points; the Hammers are currently in 17th place with 11 points. 

First Half

In the 21st minute, Joe Gomez delivered crossed into the box from the right wing. Cody Gakpo headed the ball across, and upon receiving the pass, Alexander Isak volleyed from a very close distance in the box with his left foot, but his shot was saved by Alphonse Areola.

In the 39th minute, Liverpool launched a quick counter-attack. Aaron Wan-Bissaka misjudged the clearance in his own penalty area, Gakpo intercepted the ball and passed it back to Florian Wirtz, who quickly followed up and fired a right-footed shot from the center of the box upon receiving the pass, but his shot was saved by Areola.

At halftime, Liverpool and West Ham United temporarily go into the break with a goalless draw.

Second Half

Both teams switched sides as the match continued. In the 60th minute, Gakpo cuts the ball back from the left side of the box, and upon receiving the pass, Alexander Isak volleyed the ball into the bottom left corner of the net past Areola. Liverpool broke the deadlock first to take a 1-0 lead! The £125 million signing, who joined Liverpool from Newcastle this summer but has been plagued by injuries and negativity, finally scored his first Premier League goal in his Liverpool career!

In the 82nd minute, after his teammate Niclas Füllkrug maliciously fouled Dominik Szoboszlai, Lucas Paquetá continued to verbally abuse the latter and the referee, ultimately reaping the consequences and being shown a red card within seconds! West Ham United were forced to finish the match with 10-men!

6 minutes later, Füllkrug passes horizontally from the front. Upon receiving the pass, Jarrod Bowen took a powerful left-footed shot from the right side of the box, but his shot just slightly wide of the top left corner of the post.

In the second minute of stoppage time, Gomez crossed into the box from the right wing. Upon receiving the pass, Cody Gakpo half-volleyed the ball into the bottom of the net with his right foot from the center of the box, securing a 2-0 victory for Liverpool!

When the final whistle is blown, Liverpool beats West Ham United with a 0-2 away win.
