Mamadou Sarr officially joins Chelsea, signing until 2033

Chelsea officially announced that Mamadou Sarr has officially transferred from Strasbourg, France, and signed a long-term contract with the club until 2033.

Mamadou Sarr is a key player for Strasbourg in the 2024-25 season and played a major role in the French national team's successful qualification for next season's European football tournament.

The player has made 28 appearances in all competitions this season, helping the club qualify for next season's UEFA League play-offs.

Before joining Lyon, Mamadou Sarr showed extraordinary potential in the Lens youth training camp. After being tempered and grown in the club's youth training system, Mamadou Sarr made his national team debut in the penultimate game of the 2022-23 season.

The influential defender earned two first-team appearances the following season before being loaned out to Belgian club RWD Molenbeek for five months.

As a French U20 international, Mamadou Sarr joined Strasbourg in August last year and quickly established himself as a key player in the defense. In the French Ligue 1, he started 27 times and helped the team finish seventh in the league.

Mamadou Sarr’s talent has been recognised by the national team and he has represented a number of youth teams, most recently the French Under-20 national team. All of us at Chelsea welcome Mamadou Sarr to the club and look forward to his continued success at the club.
