Manchester United face away record scrutiny; Carrick admits league season is tough.

In the post-match press conference following Manchester United's away draw against Bournemouth, manager Michael Carrick addressed the team's recent poor away form and the upcoming long off-season preparations.

In response to Manchester United's struggles, managing only two wins in their last eight Premier League away games, some media outlets have sharply questioned why the team's dominant performance at Old Trafford has failed to translate into away games.

Carrick did not shy away from this, acknowledging the harshness of the Premier League: "The competition in this league is very tough, and it's common to encounter setbacks away from home."

However, Carrick also defended the team's overall performance, emphasizing that the team has not only won a lot of games recently, but has also shown a very positive side in terms of points accumulation, overall performance, and handling adversity.

After this match, Manchester United's first team will face a break of more than 20 days before their highly anticipated match against Leeds United. During this long interval, Carrick revealed the team's rest and preparation plans.

Carrick stated that due to the international break, most players have been called up by their national teams, leaving only a handful of players at the Carrington training ground, including Mason Mount, Josh Zirkzee, Tyrell Malasia, and Luke Shaw.

“In terms of the number of days, this period does seem very long,” Carrick explained, “but it actually gives national team players who usually have to rush back and forth a rare buffer opportunity without having to rush. When we all get back together, we will make the most of this time.”
