Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle talked about the playing style of today's NBA teams in an interview, saying that having more excellent players is more important than relying on the strength of only two or three top stars.
In the 2024/25 NBA season, the Indiana Pacers made it to the Finals with an outstanding performance. However, in the seventh round of the Finals, after Tyrese Haliburton was injured and substituted, the Indiana Pacers fell behind and ultimately lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder 91-103, missing the championship trophy.
Although they failed to win the championship, the Indiana Pacers still received a lot of praise for their outstanding performance.
"We're going to rotate a lot of guys out there," Indiana Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said. "It's a way to get more guys involved, limit their minutes, and wear down the opponent. It's no secret, but it's a big part of our system. It's a hard style to execute, but it's also a beautiful way to play basketball."
"The NBA has become a competitive league that no longer relies on a few superstars to carry the team. Roster construction is also changing. It's more important to have more talented players rather than just two or three superstars who dominate the ball."
