The Golden State Warriors have announced the formal signing of guard Seth Curry for the remainder of the 2025-26 season. The 11-year NBA veteran previously participated in the Warriors' training camp but was waived on October 18th; he has now returned to the team.
Curry has averaged 10 points, 2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game in his career. Last season, he played 68 games for the Charlotte Hornets and led the league with a 45.6% three-point shooting percentage. His re-signing adds depth to the Warriors' outside firepower.
The most eye-catching aspect of this signing is that Seth Curry and his brother, 11-time All-Star Stephen Curry, will become NBA teammates for the first time. They also become the third pair of brothers to play on the same team this season. According to statistics, after their first game together, the Curry brothers will become the 23rd pair of brothers to play on the same team in NBA history.
Although this will be the first time the brothers have played together on their original NBA team, it's not the first time they've been part of the Warriors' system. Seth previously played for the Warriors' G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, in the 2013-14 season, averaging 19.7 points and 5.8 assists per game, while Stephen made his first All-Star appearance with the Warriors during that time.
When Seth first joined the Warriors, he stated that he could adapt to any environment and maintain high performance in different situations, emphasizing that he could contribute no matter where he was.
However, the timing of when the two brothers will actually be able to play together remains uncertain. Stephen is currently out with a left quadriceps contusion and muscle strain. He was injured in the game against the Houston Rockets and is expected to undergo a re-evaluation on Thursday. The Warriors have not yet announced a specific timetable for his return.
