Gravenberch hopes Liverpool can seal Premier League title at home

After Arnold scored a goal at a crucial moment, Liverpool defeated Leicester 1-0 in the focus game of the 33rd round of the 2024/25 Premier League. Liverpool midfielder Gravenberch said he was very much looking forward to locking the championship with the team in the next home game.

Tsimikas took a corner kick in the 76th minute, Salah headed the ball from close range but hit the post, and Jota's volley in the melee also hit the post. Then Arnold volleyed in the penalty area to help Liverpool take the lead 1-0.

In the end, Liverpool beat Leicester 1-0 away. Currently, Liverpool ranks first in the standings with 79 points, 13 points ahead of Arsenal, which is in second place.

In the next round of the Premier League, Liverpool will face Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield, and Slaughter's team only needs to win to lock in the Premier League title early.

Looking back on the match against Leicester, the 22-year-old Gravenberch said: "Although the goal happened a little late, I am very happy with the result. We kept working hard and persevered until the end and finally won 1-0."

“Although we didn’t play particularly well, the final result is the most important. If we look at the games in the past three weeks, even though our performance was average, we still achieved results. Getting three points is the most important thing. We still need a victory now and hope to achieve our goal at home. We are looking forward to it very much.”

Talking about his teammate Arnold's goal, Gravenberch said, "I'm really happy for him. He was injured before and scored after returning in this game, so everyone can see how important he is to the team. The fans are also great. They support us in every game every week. The same is true in this game. They are very important to us."

In addition, Gravenberch has played 45 times for Liverpool in all competitions so far this season, starting many times and playing the role of defensive midfielder on the field.

"I'm still trying to keep the momentum going, and to be honest it's really hard," Gravenberch said. "I didn't play many games last season, and now I play almost every game, which is really hard, but I'm still holding on."

"At the beginning of the season, I still needed to adapt to this new role and new position. I was not familiar with this position at that time, but now I know what I should do. The coach has full trust in me, which makes me very happy."
