Giannis Antetokounmpo has made it clear that he will never proactively request a trade from the Milwaukee Bucks.

On Wednesday night local time, the Bucks lost to the Golden State Warriors 113-120 on the road. They currently have a record of 16 wins and 21 losses, ranking 11th in the Eastern Conference. Giannis Antetokounmpo had a game-high 34 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists.

Despite this, Giannis Antetokounmpo appears to have no plans to leave the team. In a post-game interview with TA reporter Sam Amick, he explicitly denied rumors that he might request a trade before February 5th: "I will never have the opportunity, and I will never have that moment, to stand up and say 'I want to be traded.' That's not in my nature."

Giannis Antetokounmpo then added, "I'm not leaving. I'm fully committed to the team. I'm eager to turn things around. I want to play at a high level. I want to stay healthy. I want to help my teammates. I want to win games. We're 4-2 in our last six games. There are still many games ahead, and I'll be fully focused on them. Right now, my top priority is staying healthy."

“I only care about basketball. I just want to do what I’m supposed to do. There are some things I have to take responsibility for, and I will do them on the court. My partner, Bucks Director of Content Nick Monroe, has been with me for 13 years. Our relationship has always been great, but the future may change… I also have a great relationship with Bucks General Manager Jon Horst. However, he may feel there are better opportunities elsewhere tomorrow and have to take the necessary actions for the team.”

“My plan is to finish my career with the Bucks. If they don’t need me anymore, there’s nothing I can do to stop it. I’m not the helmsman, I’m just an employee.”

"Right now, I'm completely focused on my teammates, my skills, the team, and this city—not 100%, but a million percent. I'm not looking left or right. I'm only focused on the next game against the Lakers, and I want to win it. I hope to win a few more games before the All-Star break so we can get back into championship contention. We're currently ranked 11th? That's not our true level."

Finally, Giannis concluded, "I'm focused on the present, focused on my skills, focused on the team. I'm focused on everything in front of me, nothing more. No matter what happens, I will never abandon my team. That's not in my nature."
