Hoffenheim announced on Tuesday that 23-year-old former Cologne striker Tim Lempeller has completed the transfer as a free agent. It is rumored that the two sides have signed a contract until June 2030, but it has not yet been officially confirmed.
Tim Lemperer joined Cologne's youth training from Frankfurt at the age of 15 and made his first Bundesliga debut for the first team in June 2022. He played 26 Bundesliga games for Cologne and scored 2 goals during that time.
In the 2024/25 season, Lemperer played 26 Bundesliga games for Cologne, contributing 10 goals and 6 assists. His efficient performance on the offensive end became one of the key factors for Cologne to win the championship and return to the Bundesliga.
Regarding Lemperer's joining, Hoffenheim Sports Director Andreas Schickel said: "Tim Lemperer is one of the players we have been paying attention to for a long time and has long been included in the recruitment list. He is a young, energetic and very talented striker who has continued to make progress at the competitive level in the past two years. Tim is not only known for his aggressive fighting and tenacious will on the court, but also has a strong scoring threat."
He added: "Tim's contract at Cologne has now expired, so he has many opportunities to rethink his career. We are very pleased that a player who was highly sought after by half of the Bundesliga teams has firmly chosen Hoffenheim."
