Tyronn Lue says he needs Simmons to play more aggressively

As the NBA playoffs approach, Los Angeles Clippers coach Tyronn Lue is doing his best to develop Ben Simmons' potential, trying to stimulate the former No. 1 pick's offensive firepower at critical moments.
Although Simmons' overall performance this season is still far below outside expectations, Coach Lu has made one point clear - it's time to score more aggressively .
Tyronn Lue said in an interview recently that he had had many in-depth exchanges with Simmons and explicitly asked the guard to take the initiative to look for opportunities on the offensive end: "Yes, we have talked a lot in the past few days. He played very aggressively today, constantly attacking the basket, improving the rhythm, creating opportunities and finishing."
"We need him to be more aggressive. Pace is important, but more importantly, he needs to have his eyes on the rim -- be a scoring threat."
Since joining the Clippers in February, Simmons has played in 18 games, averaging only 2.9 points per game and taking fewer than three shots per game, even though his average playing time has reached 16.4 minutes.
Although there are obvious shortcomings on the offensive end, he still provides some support to the team in terms of organization, passing and defense as a reliable backup guard. However, the playoffs will be a completely different battlefield, and the Clippers need every rotation player to have an offensive threat.
Currently, the Clippers are ranked fifth in the Western Conference with a record of 50 wins and 32 losses, and will face the defending champion Denver Nuggets in the first round. The team's three top scorers - James Harden, Norman Powell and Kawhi Leonard all average more than 20 points per game, forming a solid offensive framework.
In such a system, if Simmons can provide "unexpected firepower" in a limited time, it will undoubtedly bring huge tactical value to the Clippers.
