Chelsea narrowly defeated their opponents to advance to the quarterfinals; Maresca's feelings were mixed after the match.

Chelsea narrowly defeated Wolves 4-3 in the Carabao Cup to advance to the quarterfinals, but manager Enzo Maresca admitted after the match that he had mixed feelings, saying the team still needs to improve its consistency.

The match was played at Molineux Stadium. Chelsea were in excellent form in the first half, scoring three goals with fluid passing and efficient attacking play, completely dominating the game. Against Wolves, who were bottom of the Premier League table, Chelsea seemed to have secured the victory early on.

However, the second half saw a dramatic turn of events, with Wolves launching a fierce counter-attack and scoring two goals to narrow the gap to 3-2. Although new signing Jamie Gittens scored his first goal since joining the club, extending the lead to 4-2, Wolves quickly found the net again. In the final stages, Chelsea were forced to defend, nearly conceding an equalizer, and ultimately secured a narrow victory by one goal.

In a post-match interview, Maresca said, "I'm very satisfied with the first half, but very disappointed with the second half. All three goals we conceded could have been avoided. The first goal gave the opponent a boost of confidence, and we panicked a bit on the field."

"However, such matches are important for the team's growth and are part of the process. This team is still learning and must experience ups and downs to become more mature."

Despite a thrilling match, Chelsea continued their recent good form, successfully advancing to the Carabao Cup quarterfinals, where they will face Cardiff City away from home.
