In a recent interview, Brazilian star Casemiro spoke about the importance of protecting the team and young players, and expressed his hope that Brazil would be in top form for the 2026 World Cup.

Thanks to goals from Danilo, Igor Thiago and Martinelli, Brazil defeated Croatia 3-1 in an earlier friendly match.

It's worth mentioning that during the international break in June, Brazil will face Panama and Egypt before embarking on their journey to the 2026 World Cup finals.

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro said, "We know this cycle has been difficult for everyone, including the lack of cohesion and personnel changes. When the World Cup comes, we will come in stronger and we know we must improve. Brazil has always been a place that 'produces' players, and we will give it our all."

“I spoke with Modric before, and he told me we are strong and to have confidence. Playing well is important, of course, but the World Cup is unique, like Argentina, who went on to become champions after losing their first game.”

Casemiro stated, "Expectations for Brazil are always high, but we must protect this team because we have many young players. There is a huge gap between players born in 1991/92 and those born after 2000, and we need to focus on ourselves to bridge that gap."

Furthermore, Casemiro, 34, will leave Premier League giants Manchester United after the 2025/26 season.
