Sky Sports' the renowned Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has hit out at ridiculous rumours circulating online which claimed that Manchester United is planning to sign key Liverpool duo, legendary manager Jürgen Klopp and Argentina international midfielder Alexis Mac Allister through his paid column on Tuesday.
In his column, Romano verhemently criticized the rumours, expressing his utter dismay at its absurdity and lack of logic, and his deep concern that anyone would believe such obviously fake information.
He angrily retorted, "I've received many private messages from you guys in the past few days asking if these two reports are true, and many Liverpool fans have also expressed confusion. Honestly, I'm just as baffled as you are about why such absurd news would surface."
"What I want to say is, no, none of it is true. At least I've never heard of either of these things. I know you're all saying these two reports are circulating wildly among some (infamously notorious) British media and journalists, but Klopp's agent, Marc Kosicke, has already denied them."
"He has told The Athletic that he never said that, never said Manchester United approached Klopp after the latter left Liverpool."
"Chelsea officials have also denied having made any approach I think most of you have already seen my reports debunking these rumours many times in recent months, and I don't want to repeat myself."
"In short, Jürgen Klopp will definitely not be returning to management in the near future after leaving Liverpool. He has no intention of managing Manchester United, Chelsea, Juventus, Real Madrid, or even Tottenham Hotspur."
"He has genuinely been satisfied with his current job at Red Bull, so stop creating these (boring) rumours to confuse the public."
"As for the midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, I haven't heard of anything like that either."
"Manchester United manager Michael Carrick will only be in charge as an interim manager until the end of the season, and whether he will be their manager next season is still unknown."
"I know I've reported this before, the Red Devils are very interested in defensive midfielder Carlos Baleba, but the situation has currently became uncertain."
"Baleba was a key transfer target for former manager Ruben Amorim, but Carrick and his successor may not have that plan."
"Nobody knows which player Manchester United plans to sign next, but one thing is certain: Mac Allister's claims are illogical."
"Moreover, it's a player from their direct rivals, Liverpool. How can anyone believe such an obviously easily debunkable rumour?!"
Upon investigation, these two outrageous fake news reports about Manchester United is planning to recruit Klopp and MacAllister originated from the German online media Transfermarkt and the British tabloid Mirror, respectively. Both individuals claimed their information were "exclusive insider information."
As a sister publication of the tabloid The Sun, The Mirror's terrible reputation and credibility are well-known, but many probably didn't expect that the "renowned" Transfermarkt would also be exposed for spreading rumours!
Transfermarkt, has always allowed anyone to publish any uncontrolled or unsupervised articles and information on its platform. Therefore, its forum has always been rife with fabricated, dubious information created by obscure, self-proclaimed wannabe experts.
This is why we have repeatedly warned against completely trusting transfer fee records marked by Transfermarkt, because most of these so-called "records" are simply wishful thinking on the part of the platform's authors or editors, who use their own estimates as a standard and believe in their own fabricated lies!
Finally, we believe many people, like ourselves, would agree with what Romano has said that unless someone is completely ignorant about football or has a brain fart, no football fan in the world would be foolish enough to believe that Liverpool and Manchester United, these two Premier League rivals, would plan to sign each other's players!
