After a 2-2 draw away to Newcastle United, Robert Sanchez pointed out that Chelsea could learn from their start to the game. Nick Waltmard scored just four minutes into the match at St. James' Park, and Sanchez believes the team's reaction after falling behind could be improved.  

Ultimately, Chelsea displayed a strong attacking presence at the start of the second half, having a chance to turn the tide, but failed to secure the victory. Robert Sanchez reflected on how his team could have made the game run more smoothly.  

Robert Sanchez said: "We were full of confidence, but we had to make sure we were giving it our all from the first minute. We conceded a goal early on, and then we couldn't get back into form, our performance dipped, and we ended up conceding another goal. Because we conceded so early, it was hard to find our rhythm."  

“We need to realize that even if we concede an early goal, it's okay; there are still 85 minutes left in the game. If we concede, make mistakes, or anything else happens, the team must bounce back and keep playing because there's a long game. We did that, and we even had a chance to win in the second half. We are very proud that the team was able to come back and win in the second half, especially away from home and under such high intensity. ”  

Reece James's brilliant free kick put the team back in the game, with Robert Sanchez saying he had a feeling his captain would score. The team then equalized thanks to Sanchez's quick reaction. He received a cross and immediately launched a long pass to João Pedro, who headed the ball down to him and slotted it home.  

This was Robert Sanchez's first career assist, and the first assist by a Chelsea goalkeeper in the Premier League since 2010. He said: "I'm very happy with it. I think I've made some better passes, but this time it was all thanks to João, who played exceptionally well. He's strong, won the header, and then scored on a one-on-one. It was a beautiful shot."
