The Los Angeles Clippers officially announced the signing of veteran guard Bradley Beal. The two sides reached a two-year, $11 million contract, which includes a player option for the second year.

The signing was reached quickly after Bill was waived by the Phoenix Suns. He also chose to give up $13.9 million in his original Phoenix Suns contract to help his former team free up salary space to rebuild the lineup.

Beal, 32 years old, was the third pick in the 2012 NBA Draft and was selected by the Washington Wizards on his 19th birthday. Beal played for the Washington Wizards for 11 years and gradually grew into a top shooting guard in the league.

In the 2020-21 season, Beal averaged 31.3 points per game and was selected to the All-Star team three times. In the summer of 2023, the Washington Wizards began to rebuild and eventually traded Beal, Jordan Goodwin and Isaiah Todd to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for four first-round pick swaps, six second-round picks, and Landry Shamet and Chris Paul.

However, this luxurious Big Three lineup of Beal, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker did not perform as expected, and the Phoenix Suns ended up with only 36 wins and 46 losses.

Plagued by injuries, Beal's performance in the two seasons with the Phoenix Suns was mediocre, with his average score dropping to 17.6 points per game, and he missed more than 29 games in four consecutive seasons due to injuries. With Durant being traded to the Houston Rockets a few days ago, the Phoenix Suns officially announced the end of the Big Three era.

Now that he has joined the Los Angeles Clippers, Beal will form a new veteran core with James Harden and Kawhi Leonard, opening a new chapter in his career. It remains to be seen whether Beal can regain his peak and help the Los Angeles Clippers win the championship.
