Coach Massimiliano Allegri stated in an interview that his team failed to maintain a compact form after taking the lead, emphasizing the need to capitalize on opportunities and continue improving.

In the 57th minute of the second half, Cuadrado's shot struck the hand of AC Milan defender De Winter, prompting a penalty kick for Pisa. Cuadrado converted the penalty, tying the score at 1-1.
