After the 19th round of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season, Bayern Munich suffered their first league defeat, losing 1-2 at home to Augsburg. They still hold the top spot with 50 points from 16 wins, 2 draws, and 1 loss, leading Borussia Dortmund by 8 points.

Augsburg ended their five-game winless streak with this victory and are now ranked 13th in the league with 19 points from 5 wins, 4 draws and 10 losses.

In the 23rd minute of the first half, Bayern Munich broke the deadlock: Michael Olisse delivered a corner kick from the right, and Hiroki Ito rose high in the penalty area to head the ball into the net, 1-0. In the 25th minute, Luiz Diaz broke into the left side of the penalty area and crossed with the outside of his foot, but Karl, unmarked on the other side, unleashed a powerful shot that went high and wide. In the 26th minute, Jonathan Tah's long pass from midfield found Diaz, who had broken into the left side of the penalty area, but Diaz's shot from a tight angle was saved by Finn Damen.

In the 45th minute, Olise broke through on the left and crossed into the penalty area, where Harry Kane's follow-up shot went wide of the right side. In the fourth minute of first-half stoppage time, Augsburg, who were gaining momentum, launched a quick counter-attack, but Robin Fairhauer's final shot was denied by the crossbar.

After the break, Augsburg continued their rebound from before halftime. In the 49th minute, Alexis Claude-Morris' long-range shot forced Jonas Ulbighi to parry, and Anton Keid immediately rushed forward to try and score on the rebound but failed. In the 60th minute, Lennart Karl unexpectedly lost possession in his own penalty area, and Elvis Rexbekai intercepted the ball and fired a shot that went wildly over the bar.

In the 70th minute, Joshua Kimmich delivered a long pass from the attacking third, and Kane's shot inside the penalty area was easily saved by Damen. Following this, Claude Morris and Rex Becai had three consecutive long-range shots, all of which were successfully saved by Ulbig.

In the 75th minute, Augsburg won a free kick near the edge of the penalty area. Claude Maurice took the free kick, but his curling shot went wide to the right. Mert Kommul then took a corner kick from the right, which caused Ulbig to make a mistake in his attempt to come out, and Artur Chavez headed the ball into the net to equalize the score.

In the 81st minute, Dimitrios Gianniulis cut inside from the left and passed the ball back to Masengo, who followed up and slotted it into the net to give Augsburg the lead. Neither side managed to score again, and Augsburg ultimately came from behind to win 2-1.
