Los Angeles FC officially announced on Thursday that they have extended the contract of former French national team goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. The new contract will extend from December this year to December 31, 2026, with an option for a further year.

Since joining Los Angeles FC in December 2023, the 38-year-old Lloris has made 91 appearances in all competitions, including 65 MLS regular season matches. He has kept 33 clean sheets and won a U.S. Open Cup with the team.

Before joining FC Los Angeles, Lloris played for Nice, Lyon, and Tottenham Hotspur. According to Transfermarkt statistics, he made a total of 727 appearances for the three teams, including 70 Champions League matches, 31 Europa League matches, 1 Europa League match, 218 Ligue 1 matches, and 361 Premier League matches.

Regarding the decision to renew Hugo Lloris' contract, FC Los Angeles co-chairman and general manager John Thorrington explained: "Since joining the team, Hugo has always been an irreplaceable leader and role model. We are delighted to have reached a contract extension agreement with him. Hugo has demonstrated exceptional character and qualities both on and off the field, and has consistently led the locker room atmosphere with his experience, professionalism, and winning mentality. His presence is invaluable as we strive for greater achievements."

Lloris stated, "I'm delighted to continue alongside FC Los Angeles. From the very beginning, I've felt the club's ambition and the strong bond between the players, staff, and fans.
