Matty Cifuentes has revealed that Stephen Mavididi 's fitness will be assessed before his departure for Millwall, where they are scheduled to face the south London club on Saturday, aiming to bounce back from their midweek Sky Bet Championship defeat to Hull City.  

The Leicester City manager has revealed winger Stephen Mavididi is expected to return to the squad after missing matches against the Tigers, Portsmouth and Swansea.  

"He's in excellent form, has been training with the team and has shown improvement," said Marty Cifuentes. "We will make the final decision next and the process is going smoothly."  

However, Bobby Reid's trip to the capital this weekend has been postponed, with the Jamaican international set to miss out for the short term with a hamstring injury sustained in last weekend's match against Portsmouth.  

Marty Cifuentes continued: "He has a slight problem with his hamstring and will not play. The recovery time is not expected to be long, but he will not be ready for Saturday's match."  

The head coach said that given that this is the team's third game in eight days, arranging the players' playing time reasonably, especially those who are recovering, is an important part of management work.  

He added: "Obviously, with the performances of the team and the support of the medical staff, looking back at the injuries we've had so far, I think it shows the incredible work that's been done behind the scenes. When the results are good, no one looks at the little details, but when the results aren't good, the doubts start to come in. At this stage of the season, I would never take the risk of keeping a player out for four to six weeks. That would be an extremely unwise decision, but I can say for sure that the team behind the scenes are putting in a lot of effort."
