Flamengo center-back Clayton will join Wolfsburg on a free transfer, on a four-and-a-half-year contract.

Wolfsburg announced on Wednesday that Flamengo centre-back Clayton Santana dos Santos will officially join them on a free transfer on January 1, 2026. The two sides signed a four-and-a-half-year contract, valid until June 30, 2030.
The 22-year-old Clayton, from Brazil, made his professional debut for Flamengo in the Rio de Janeiro State League on January 26, 2022. To date, he has made 21 appearances for Flamengo, winning two Copa Libertadores titles, one Brazilian Serie A title, two Rio de Janeiro State League titles, two Brazilian Cup titles, and one Brazilian Super Cup title.
Regarding Clayton's signing, Wolfsburg's sporting director Peter Christiansen said: "Clayton possesses both outstanding physical attributes and excellent game reading ability. He is a modern center-back who is left-footed and has extremely high potential."
“This signing also benefited from the excellent work of our scouting department. We believe Clayton has the ability to gradually adapt to the level of the Bundesliga and play an important role in the defense in the future.”
