Strasbourg announced on its official website on Monday that the club has signed Argentine center forward Joaquín Panichelli from Alavés.
According to Strasbourg's official statement, Panichelli has signed on a long-term five-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2030.
American media outlet CBS Sports' resident renowned transfer journalist Ben Jacobs, brought news that the Ligue 1 dark horses has paid a total of €16 million to Alavés to sign Panichelli.
About Joaquín Panichelli
Panichelli, who is only 22 years old, was born in Cordoba, Argentina on October 7, 2002. He is 1.90 meters tall and plays as a center forward. His father German was also a professional footballer who played as a center forward and is currently retired.
Panichelli played for the youth academies of Racing de Cordoba, Atlético Belgrano and non-league club Atalaya de Cordoba when he was a child. In February 2020, after failing a trial at Boca Juniors, he moved to the youth academy of the latter's local rivals River Plate.
In January 2023, Panichelli joined Alavés as a free agent and completed his Alavés first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in May of the same year.
During his time with Los blanquiazules, Panichelli rarely got the opportunity to play for the La Liga club.
In August last year, Panichelli was loaned-out to Mirandés.
Last season, Panichelli played 44 times for the Spanish Segunda División club in all competitions, scoring 21 goals and assisting 8 times.
