Sassuolo announced on their official website on Saturday that Fiorentina's Angola international forward M'Bala Nzola has joined the club on-loan.
According to Sassuolo's official statement, Nzola will play for the club on loan until the end of the season, with an option-to-buy.
About M'Bala Nzola
The 29-year-old Nzola was born on August 18, 1996, in Cabinda, Angola. He is 1.85 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward, but can also play as a right winger. He holds dual Angolan and French citizenship.
Nzola joined Troyes' youth academy at the age of 14 and joined the Académica de Coimbra's youth academy in 2014. He made his Académica de Coimbra first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in a Taça da Liga match the following January.
From the summer of 2016 to the summer of the following year, Nzola played for Virtus Francavilla and Carpi successively.
In August 2018, Nzola was loaned-out to Trapani. After helping the club gain promotion to Serie B, his ownership was permanently bought out the following summer.
In January 2020, Nzola was loaned-out to Spezia, with his ownership permanently bought out in October of the same year.
In August 2023, Nzola moved to Fiorentina for €10 million.
From the following summer until the first half of this season, Nzola was loaned-out to Lens and Pisa successively.
During his time with I Viola, Nzola made 47 appearances for the struggling Serie A club in all competitions, scoring 7 goals and providing 5 assists.
