The Sacramento Kings have released an unfortunate medical update, announcing that backup center Drew Eubanks has successfully undergone surgery to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his left thumb.

Therefore, Urbans will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season, but is expected to make a full recovery in the future. This news is undoubtedly a further blow to the Kings, who are already mired in injury problems.

Urbans' injury places him alongside Zach LaVine, Domantas Sabonis, and De'Andre Hunter on the team's heavy season-ending injury list. Although Urbans is not a star player under the spotlight, his absence has dealt a substantial blow to the team's interior depth in an injury-plagued squad.

With Urbans sidelined due to injury, the burden at center for the Kings will fall entirely on the shoulders of Maxim Reno and Dylan Caldwell. Head coach Doug Christie faces a severe test in his lineup selection.

This is Urbans' eighth year in the professional league. In 42 games played, he has averaged 13.1 minutes, contributing 5.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks, making him a very reliable rotation piece.

However, against a Kings team riddled with problems, Urbans' individual solid performance ultimately couldn't offer much help and was insufficient to fundamentally salvage the team's slump this season.
